“The Jail, Summit Foods, and the contracted food service worker who tested positive are all actively collaborating with relevant agencies in response to the positive test to provide all requested information in a timely manner. The well-being, health and safety of persons in custody, staff and contracted vendors continues to be our number one priority. Jail employees, contracted vendors employees working in the jail, and persons in custody continue to be monitored daily for symptoms, and enhanced cleaning procedures have been ongoing for over a month,” said Warden Mattson.
The Food Service worker last worked on the morning of April 16th . They became symptomatic on the 17th and was advised to stay at home. Later that day they were tested. The positive test result came back on April 18th . Initiatives to enhance cleaning in the Jail began in early March along with a multi-tier screening approach to new admissions to the facility. Additionally, screening of employees, contract vendors and inmate workers was implemented prior to this event and will continue as we monitor for any others who may have had contact with this individual.
