SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Seven people have died from the coronavirus at the Good Samaritan Society’s Sioux Falls Village.
The facility has had 54 residents test positive for the virus.

Good Samaritan Society – Sioux Falls Village in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has confirmed that four additional residents have passed away following COVID-19 diagnosis. This is truly a sad day for our entire Good Samaritan Society family. Every resident who comes through our doors becomes family, and losing these cherished members of our family weighs heavily on our hearts. We pray for peace and comfort for their loved ones. We ask that you please respect their wishes for privacy during this extraordinarily difficult time.
We continue to isolate COVID-19 positive residents from others. Every resident and employee of the facility has been tested to identify all cases, including those who remain asymptomatic. Visitor restrictions, employee screenings and social distancing measures have been in place at all Good Samaritan Society locations since early March. Additional testing of residents and staff members will continue, as we remain committed to protecting our community.
In total, 54 residents of Good Samaritan Society – Sioux Falls Village campus have tested positive for COVID-19, with seven passing away. Of our 36 employees who have tested positive, 11 have recovered and returned to work. We’ve been closely following guidance from the CDC, CMS and the South Dakota Department of Health to ensure our response meets the needs of this ever-evolving pandemic.
