SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Sioux Falls man is facing numerous charges after leading authorities in Lyon County, Iowa, on a chase that reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
A deputy with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department attempted to pull over 19-year-old Milthon Montes Garcia for speeding near Inwood, Iowa on January 12th.
Montes Garcia refused to pull over and led authorities on a high-speed chase before abandoning his vehicle.
His vehicle was found outside of a residence a short time later.
Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered meth along with multiple open containers.
Deputies were eventually able to locate Montes Garcia and placed him under arrest, during which he tried to resist.
Montes Garcia is facing charges of operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance (meth), two counts of speeding, resisting arrest, and driving without a license.
Montes Garcia also had five active warrants out of Lyon County.
