SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The two candidates in the Sioux Falls City Council Northwest District race on June 2 are talking about their priorities.
Incumbent Greg Neitzert says a big priority for him moving forward through the impact of the coronavirus is balancing budget needs so as not to forget quality-of-life.
“We’ve got to talk about how we do those responsibly and keep moving the ball forward. If all we do is work on infrastructure, it’s not going to be a very fun place to live. But at the same time, infrastructure and public safety, those are the two linchpins.”
Challenger Julian Beaudion says some of his priorities if elected, are based on what he’s been hearing.
“And two things I’ve heard over and over and over again from the working class here in Sioux Falls is about, number one, affordable housing in our community, and number two, our state actually has no regulations when it comes to occupational safety and health.”
Both Neitzert and Beaudion spoke at a candidate’s forum sponsored by the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.
