SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — An additional X-factor in last night’s George Floyd rally and the subsequent rioting in Sioux Falls is what all that close contact might mean to the spread of the coronavirus.
State Epidemiologist Josh Clayton said the health department is keeping an eye on it.
He says it takes 2 to 14 days for the virus to incubate.
Mayor Paul TenHaken says there was a lot of community spread happening with the 1 to 2,000 people packed in at VanEps Park for the rally.
Many but not all marchers were wearing masks of some sort.
There was a small group that distributed masks to those who wanted them in VanEps Park.
