SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police arrested two juveniles–who are being charged as adults–on aggravated assault on law enforcement and other charges stemming from the riot at the Empire Mall a week ago Sunday.
Gerard Amos Vanderwalker, 17, and Gavin Mason Rosheim, 17, both from Sioux Falls are also charged with riot and failure to disperse.
They are accused of throwing rocks at law officers.
The incident arose after the peaceful march and rally downtown May 31 for George Floyd. Floyd died in police custody in Minneapolis earlier that week.
They were scheduled to make a first appearance in court this afternoon.
