SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls schools are on track to reopen as scheduled in August with in-person instruction, unless government restrictions change.
“At this time, our plan is to begin the school year as scheduled on Thursday, August 27, 2020 with in-person delivery,” Sioux Falls School District spokesperson DeeAnn Konrad said in an email to parents Thursday. “Beyond that, no final decisions have been made.”
Konrad said the district is working on contingency plans if public health officials require schools to stay closed. She asked parents to fill out a short survey to help with the plan.
Sioux Falls’ academic year ended in May after over two months of remote learning. Gov. Kristi Noem has largely left it up to individual districts to decide when and how to reopen.
