SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — There may not be a 4th of July parade in Sioux Falls this year, but the city still wants you to celebrate!
Due to the public health risks of COVID-19, the City of Sioux Falls made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Independence Day parade and picnic at Falls Park.
Since we are unable to gather in-person residents are invited to celebrate Independence Day as a community by participating in these great virtual programs for all ages.
- · Virtual 5K: With three fun routes to choose from, there’s one near you to conquer (or do all three!) A virtual 5K is simple and fun! Pick one of the routes, complete the route, and show your participation by sharing photos or videos of you walking or running with the hashtag #OneSiouxFalls4th! No registration required, fun for all ages, and go at your own pace! - Virtual Parade: Participate in this fun “virtual parade” by doing the activities you love to do with the spirit of Independence Day! Dress up in America’s colors, decorate your home or vehicle, paint your face or create a patriotic-themed piece of art, take in a fireworks show, or spend time at the lake – whatever your plans are, share those memories by using the hashtag #OneSiouxFalls4th and you’ll be added to our online virtual parade where everyone can share their July 4th memories!
