SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — We will have one more day of relatively comfortable conditions before southerly flow brings in increased humidity starting tonight.
Heat index values will climb into a more dangerous range west of I-29 on Friday, and then in most areas on Saturday.
While a few thunderstorms are possible as times, rainfall should be fairly spotty at times. A couple of severe storms are possible as well, mainly favoring the evening and overnight periods.
Isolated thunderstorms will be possible by very late this afternoon and evening. There is a small chance that a storm from the James River valley westward could become severe with hail up to quarter size and winds up to 60 mph.
Be sure to hydrate well and make plans to minimize your time in the heat/humidity, and remember to protect your outdoor pets!
