SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Someone tried unsuccessfully to pass a fake $50 bill Monday in Sioux Falls.
Police said it was “for motion picture use only.” They said it was caught before the purchase.
Officer Sam Clemens says counterfeiters try all sorts of things.
That can include using motion picture money or low-quality copies.
He says $50 fakes aren’t the most common, but they see more $20 and $100 fakes.
Clemens says some counterfeiters even try to pass $1 bills.
