HARTFORD, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident involving a West Central School bus this morning (Wednesday).
There were some minor injuries but no serious injuries.
The accident happened on HWY 38 west of Hartford where a car ran into the back of the bus.
Students transferred to another bus to get to school.
Authorities notified the student’s parents and guardians about the mishap.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle, school-bus-related crash at SD Highway 38 and 461st Avenue, west of Hartford.
On 12/15/21 at 8:20 a.m. a 2009 Buick Lucerne collided into the rear of a Hartford area school bus. The school bus was preparing to turn left on to 461st Avenue from SD Highway 38. No serious or observable injuries resulted from the accident. The parents or guardians for all of the children involved have been contacted. The children involved have all been returned to school or released to their respective guardians.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. The South Dakota Highway Patrol, Hartford Fire and Rescue, Humboldt Fire and Rescue, Humboldt Ambulance, The South Dakota Department of Transportation, West Central School District, and Patient Care EMS all assisted in this incident.
