SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Sioux Falls man has been sentenced to 100 months in federal prison for his involvement in a carjacking.
32-year-old Sterling Spotted Elk, Jr., pled guilty to the carjacking charge on August 6th.
In January of this year, Spotted Elk and an accomplice attempted to forcefully take a vehicle from 3 victims.
Because bystanders were watching the crime take place, Spotted Elk and his accomplice fled the scene.
Spotted Elk’s accomplice, Shawn Long, was recently sentenced to 116 months in federal prison.
