SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — About a half-inch of snow fell on Sioux Falls Thursday night and Friday morning in the first meaningful snowfall of the season.
As of 8 am, the snowfall at NWS Sioux Falls was around 0.5 inches.

The snow and high winds lowered visibility on the roads, making the morning commute more difficult. Check up-to-date road conditions here.
Authorities advised drivers to take it slow on the road, increase following distance, and keep headlights on. Conditions were particularly dangerous on bridges, which become icy before other road surfaces.

Winds remain strong in Sioux Falls, though the National Weather Service said they were expected to slowly die down throughout the day.
