SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Two Sioux Falls Police officers are recovering from injuries they received early Friday morning from a man who fought them while being arrested.
The officers responded to a no-contact order violation in the 1900 block of East 33rd Street North.
A woman called police saying a man who she had a no-contact order against was outside her home.
When the police tried to arrest the man, he hit one officer in the head and the other in the body.
One cop might have a broken jaw.
Their injuries are non-life-threatening.
Police tried to use a taser on the man but it didn’t subdue the suspect.
Daniel Jose Gomez, 35, from Sioux Falls is charged with a number of felonies.
