SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Minnesota-based ethanol plant has been fined nearly $200,000 for pollution violations by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
AL-Corn Clean Fuel LLC, based out of Claremont, was accused of several violations dating all the way back to 2018.
The investigation found that AL-Corn exceeded air pollutant limits, reported false emission readings, and failed to apply for permits for new equipment.
In addition to the fine, the company will undergo strict oversight to ensure rules are followed in the future.
