SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — It was a busy Labor Day Weekend for the Sioux Falls Police, as they noted at Tuesday’s briefing.
MAN ATTACKS GIRLFRIEND, TAKES ONE-YEAR-OLD
A noncustodial Sioux Falls father is awaiting extradition to South Dakota after attacking his girlfriend and taking their one-year-old to Sioux City.
The incident happened Friday night into early Saturday morning in the 100 block of South Summit Avenue.
Doyle Webbs, Jr., 29 was arrested in Sioux City on outstanding warrants.
The one-year-old was not harmed.
82-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED IN PEDESTRIAN HIT-AND-RUN
Sioux Falls Police arrested an 82-year-old man in the hit-and-run of a pedestrian Saturday night.
Police say Zxe Van Tron hit a 34-year-old man near Rice Street and Jessica.
Witnesses say Tron got out of his vehicle to look at the victim, then took off.
Tron faces felony hit-and-run and other charges.
The victim went to the hospital with serious injuries.
COP EXTINGUISHES FIRE
A Sioux Falls Police Officer was able to extinguish a small grass and garage fire before it became a big problem.
After a disagreement between two men in the 3600 block of South Greenwood Avenue Saturday night, one of the men poured gasoline on the lawn and the garage.
Brian J. Williamson, 47, from Sioux Falls, is charged with reckless burning in the incident.
MAN CLAIMS VAN IS HIS
Sioux Falls Police are looking for a man who took up residence in a woman’s van, claiming it was his.
When confronted by the owner, the squatter punched her then drove off in the van.
The incident took place early Monday morning on 26th Street.
Police are looking for a white man in his mid-30s, about six feet tall, 135 pounds, with blond hair.
WAGNER MAN FACES ASSAULT CHARGES
A Wagner, South Dakota man is in jail on aggravated assault charges over an assault of a woman early Tuesday morning.
The victim says Eli Henry Siers, 43, punched and kicked her outside a house full of people.
After the assault, told people in the house she was assaulted.
One of the people then mixed it up with Siers.
Police say Siers may face additional charges.
