SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Now that the FDA has formally approved Pfizer’s two-shot coronavirus vaccine protocol, local medical experts are now advising when to get a booster shot.
Dr. Chad Thierry with Avera Health in Sioux Falls says non-immuno-compromised people should get a Pfizer or Moderna booster eight months after their last shot.
Thierry says for those who are immuno-compromised or are going through cancer treatment, they should get a booster 28 days after their second shot. He also says he hopes FDA approval will spur reluctant area residents to get vaccinated.

Sanford Health is texting immuno-compromised previously immunized patients in the area to get their Pfizer booster shot against COVID-19.
