SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — It wasn’t a particularly eventful day yesterday for Sioux Falls police, but the few incidents that did take place will be sure to raise eyebrows.
Here is a recap of this morning’s police briefing.
MAN ARRESTED AFTER STRIKING A TODDLER
Sioux Falls Police have arrested a man for striking a one and a half year old child.
At around 11 pm last night, officers were called to a well being check in the 3100 block of W 12th St.
Upon arrival, residents told police that they heard a loud slap followed by non stop crying.
Marks were discovered on the child, and police determined that 47-year-old Charles Ropp had hit the toddler on the side of the head.
Ropp was then placed in custody for the abuse of a minor under the age of 7.
The child, whom Ropp is related to, did not have any serious injuries.
SHOTS FIRED AT A PARKED CAR
Police responded to a shots fired call yesterday around 11:30 pm.
Officers arrived at the 4600 block of west Oliana place and found that a parked car full of bullet holes.
Investigators found 11 shell casings nearby.
No other property was damaged, and no arrests have been made.
CAR USED AS WEAPON AFTER A DISPUTE
A dispute between two people leads to an assault with a vehicle in Sioux Falls
Police arrived on scene and made an arrest after someone reported that another person was attempting to hit them with a vehicle after an argument.
