SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — With being in a drought for the past months, the KELO Radio listening area finally received some much-needed rain Monday and Tuesday.
Rainfall amounts varied across the region and even within the Sioux Falls metro area.
The NWS’s radar indicated rainfall showed between 0.07 of an inch and 1.33 in the Sioux Falls area alone.
Radar indicated Parker had 1.81 inches of rain while just a few miles down the road in Wakonda, it had 0.08 inches of precipitation.
KELOLAND meteorologist Scot Mundt says this is not unusual.
“Minnehaha County could be a prime example of that,” Mundt said Wednesday on KELO Radio’s “It’s Your Business” with Bill Zortman. “We’ve had some areas south of Sioux Falls able to get some of the recent rainfall around an inch to an inch and a half that on the northern side of the county.”
See the NWS tweet below with their radar rain estimates.
