SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls City Councilor Curt Soehl is proposing programs to help homeowners.
The first one would be a property tax rebate of up to $500 for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners.
The other program would provide up to $20,000 on a $300,000 house in a distressed neighborhood if purchased by a qualified law enforcement officer or firefighter.
The Mayor’s office is aware of the programs.
The ordinances for the program aren’t drafted yet.
Several of the other Councilors commended Soehl for his proposals.
Soehl unveiled the projects at Tuesday’s Sioux Falls City Council information meeting.
