SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) – The Sioux Falls City Council voted 6-1 to put a hold on permits and licenses for marijuana establishments until regulations are issued by the state.
Medical marijuana becomes legal in South Dakota as of July 1 however, the South Dakota Department of Health has until Oct. 29 to create the rules and regulations to implement the program.
Minnehaha and Lincoln County Commissions have passed similar ordinances.
The lone no vote was Councilor Pat Starr.
