SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) Call to Freedom, a local organization that supports victims of human trafficking, is expanding their residential housing options.
The organization’s fundraising goal for the Marissa’s Housing Project Expansion is $1.84 million. Call to Freedom has already raised $484,000. Executive Director Becky Rasmussen asked the city council for $500,000 for the new 12 unit apartment building to provide a safe place for victims and their children.
Rasmussen says the new unit will enable to the organization to better support victims who are recovering from being trafficked by allowing them to be with their children.
