FLANDREAU, S.D. (KELO.com) — Pull on your cowboy boots, Flandreau is having a rodeo!
Flandreau Rodeo Days runs June 4th and 5th.
The event was named the best rodeo in the state in 2019 by the South Dakota Rodeo Association.

June 4th and 5th: Flandreau, South Dakota — After another successful year, the Rodeo Committee is happy to announce the return of the event. The Rodeo will take place across from Royal River Casino & Hotel on June 4th and 5th.
In a joint partnership between the local rodeo committee, The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe, and Royal River Casino, Flandreau Rodeo Days hosted their inaugural event in June of 2018. The Second and Third Annual Flandreau Rodeo Days brought over 300 contestants and in excess of 500 spectators each day to witness two days of heart-pounding rodeo excitement. The success of this event led to it being named the Best New Rodeo of the Year in 2018 and Best Rodeo of the Year in 2019 by the South Dakota Rodeo Association and cemented the plan for Flandreau Rodeo Days to be an annual event.
To follow up on last year’s success, this year’s attractions include a Kid’s Play Area with a Large Inflatable Course, Inflatable Slide, Octopus Bounce House, and a Petting Zoo. Also, there will be craft and food vendors, concerts featuring HickTown Mafia on Friday, and Camille Rae on Saturday. Additionally, Junior Saddle Bronc and Bare Back performances by young cowboys and cowgirls ranging in age from 8-17 years of age.
Gates open each day at 11 am for guests to enjoy Vendors and Food Booths. Slack starts at 11 am. Kid Zone starts at 11 am. Team Penning will begin at 5 pm, followed by Mutton Busting for Children 3-9 years of age weighing under 45LBS. The Grand Entry will commence at 6 pm each evening. Tickets are $10 in advance at the Royal River Gift Shop or online at www.FlandreauRodeoDays.com or $15 at the gate. Children 10 & under are free with a paying adult.
