SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here are some of the bigger incidents from Thursday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
THREE-YEAR-OLD DIES FROM INJURIES AT DAYCARE
Sioux Falls Police report that the three-year-old who ended up with a rope wrapped around their neck at a daycare playground has died.
The authorities did not release any other information.
The incident happened at a daycare Tuesday in the 5300 block of South Solberg Avenue.
Police are continuing their investigation.
MAY BE THE SAME CULPRIT IN BOOZE AND SMOKES BURGLARIES
Authorities believe two break-ins early Wednesday morning where $29,000 in booze and cigarettes were stolen may be by the same culprit.
Sioux Falls Police say they have received the surveillance video from both Williquors and Rollin Smoke.
The burglar broke through the glass doors in both businesses.
WOMAN LOSES $1,900 IN FAKE COP SCAM
Sioux Falls police are investigating a report that a local woman fell victim to a scam by someone claiming to be a police officer.
Officer Sam Clemens says the fake cop told her she needed to pay money to avoid being arrested for money laundering.
The money laundering charge was bogus.
The 61-year-old victim paid $1,900 in gift cards as demanded.
She provided the card information to the scammer, then realized later that she might have been defrauded.
