Parker Hanson - from Facebook
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – One thief’s recycling was an Augustana pitcher’s treasure on Tuesday.
Baseball pitcher Parker Hanson’s prosthetic arm was stolen from his pick-up last week. After Hanson posted about the theft on Facebook, the story attracted national attention. Augustana received permission to start a fundraiser to replace the $20,000 – $25,000 prosthetic arm.
Tuesday, Hanson got a welcome text from workers at Millennium Recycling who found the arm as they were going through the recyclables.
Hanson said unfortunately the arm will still need to be replaced as it suffered some damage. The fundraiser will continue, and any additional funds will be given to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children and NubAbility.
