Sioux Falls, SDĀ (Kelo.com) – 93% of South Dakota is abnormally dry according to the U.S. drought monitor, and 20% of the state is in extreme drought.
The National Weather Service says an extreme drought persists for a portion of southeast South Dakota and if dry conditions continue, there will likely be some issues with crop emergence and stress after planting. Grasslands and pastures are showing some stress and reduced forage production.
