SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Crews responded to a house fire on South Seventh Avenue in Sioux Falls Tuesday night.
They were called in at about 10:15 and put the fire out in about a half an hour. The blaze appeared to start on the first floor of the home.
The only person inside made it out without getting hurt, though Fire Rescue says they were taken to the hospital for a condition unrelated to the fire.

On February 9th, 2021, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 1900 block of South 7th Avenue. Initial reports were that there were flames coming from the roof and the occupant was outside the home. The first arriving fire crew found heavy fire conditions coming from the front of the structure. Crews went to work immediately extinguishing the fire and had it under control in approximately 30 minutes. They continued to work for several hours after to ensure the fire was extinguished. Heavy fire damage was sustained to the first floor and smoke damage was found throughout the home. A fire crew remained on-scene throughout the night to monitor the residence.
There were no injuries reported from responders. The single occupant of the home was transported to the hospital by ambulance due to a medical issue unrelated to the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 5 fire trucks, 3 support vehicles, and 24 firefighters.
