SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A woman who left her car running in front of a Sioux Falls convenience store caught a lucky break.
Officer Sam Clemens says the woman dashed into the store and when she returned there was a man sitting in the car rifling through her things.
She asked the man what he was doing. He said he thought it was a friend’s car. He then took off and is still on the loose.
Clemens says there were also a couple of other unlocked car incidents Wednesday.
He says he realizes it is cold out, but it can take only seconds for a crook to get into an unlocked car.
Clemens continues emphasizing taking your keys and locking your vehicle doors to stop the recent spate of incidents.
