SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue are already heroes by what they do every day.
But they are going even a step further and are holding their annual competition to donate more blood than the other group.
The Sioux Falls Community Blood Bank’s Ken Versteeg says all the blood donated stays in the Sioux Falls area.
As of Tuesday, SFFR was winning the competition with 310 units to the SFPD’s 301. Donors can designate which department they want their donation to assist in the competition.
If you want to be a hero too, you can give blood outside the KELO Radio Studios Wednesday between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Pre-register to give blood at cbblifeblood.org/register/.
The blood drive runs until January 8.
