SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The Housing Division for the city of Sioux Falls helped nearly 19-hundred residents with home and rental unit repairs last year…and is gearing up to do more this year. Logan Penfield, the assistant director of planning and development, says the program provides help to families, so they have safe, sanitary and affordable housing, “In 2025 we expended $8.1-million, in creating or maintaining affordable housing programs, or through partnerships in the city of Sioux Falls that impacted just under 19-hundred people, and included 132 completed projects.” The effort will be considerably larger in 2026, with a $12.3-million budget for the program. There are income guidelines to qualify, and citizens needing help should contact the city.
