SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — It’s a timely gift that will have a huge impact. Marmen Energy has hired a number of graduates from Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls at its facility in Brandon, and likes what it sees. The company is donating a million dollars for the planned James Abdnor Center for Advanced Manufacturing and the Ed Wood Trade and Industry Center. Southeast Tech President Cory Clasemann says it will double the number of welding booths in the new facility, “This will greatly expand our normal capacity. Right now, we have 23 welding booths, and with the new facility we’ll more than double that capacity and will have roughly 50 welding booths.” Marmen CEO Vincent Trudel says the gift will help develop a stronger pipeline of skilled workers ready to contribute to local industry.
