OMAHA, NE (KELO.com) — The DEA is working to create a Fentanyl Free America. After round two of the operation, they’re 57-million doses closer to their goal. Dustin Gillespie, the Special Agent in Charge of the Omaha DEA region, says the agency is working to dismantle cartels and their financial operations. “We’re on ’em, and we’re beating them back. Overdoses are down nationally, they’re down across our communities here in the Midwest. Those are wins to celebrate and acknowledge, but the battle’s not over.” The DEA seized over two-million doses of fentanyl in the five-state region that includes Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and the Dakotas, as well as other illicit drugs.
