Pierre, SD (KELO.com) — Governor Larry Rhoden’s ‘Operation: Prairie Thunder” is producing results and criticism. Saturation patrols were completed in Belle Fourche, Huron and Yankton earlier this month. So far, 75 individuals into custody on numerous charges including immigration.
Operation Prairie Thunder is heading to Brookings next, and the City’s reaction did not go over well. City officials revealed the patrols would begin this week. The Governor admonished Brookings for giving the public notice that State Troopers would be flooding the area. Brookings stood by their decision not only to inform the public, but they also will not be assisting in the patrols.
