Sioux Falls, SD (KELO.com) — A murder trial is moving forward, after a judge denies a dismissal based on self-defense. Timothy Overton is accused of shooting and killing a man in a parking lot in Tea in June of 2024. His defense team cited South Dakota’s ‘Stand Your Ground Act’ as grounds for dismissal but the judge denied that.
