Pierre, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota will be improving high speed internet across the state. The Governor’s office of Economic Development has received approval for over 72-million dollars to expand service. This new funding comes thanks to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA). They approved South Dakota’s final proposal for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program. The approval marks a major milestone in a four-year planning and implementation process aimed at connecting broadband internet service to remote areas.
