Sioux Falls, SD (KELO.com) New radio technology being put in place by Sioux Falls Police is saving some money for the Sioux Falls School District. The City Council just approved the purchase of over 900-thousand dollars’ worth of new police radios…which will overcome dead zones in schools and other critical locations. School District Security Coordinator David Osterquist says that makes antenna systems that were going to be purchased by the district unnecessary. Osterquist says the antennas would have cost the district about 100-thousand dollars per building. The money saved will be put to work in beefing up security in other areas.
