Brookings, SD (KELO.com) — In August, Brookings was without a local newspaper but starting tomorrow, it will have two. The Brookings Register’s parent company went out of business, and was purchased by Champion Media, which resumed publication in late August. Former Register Editor Josh Linehan will release the first issue of the Brookings Beacon tomorrow. The Beacon will be a weekly publication focused on local news.
