Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, SD (KELO.com) — Leaders of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe are appealing the dismissal of their lawsuit against the Dakota Access Pipeline. The tribe argues the Army Corps of Engineers operated without a proper easement for Lake Oahe. Tribal leaders also claim the Corps failed to enforce federal pipeline safety regulations and to protect sacred cultural sites. Parties are expected to respond to the tribe’s appeal by early January 2026.
