SNAP benefits are restarting but only at half of what households were getting

Pierre, SD (KELO.com) — The Trump administration announces SNAP benefits are restarting, but with a delay and at 50 percent for what eligible households were previously getting. With the news, South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden is calling on South Dakotans to step up and help those affected by food insecurity due to the government shutdown. Rhoden says to donate to non-profits such as Feeding South Dakota as well as churches. A Feeding South Dakota representative says they work with around 300 partner food banks across the state but says their need for food is constantly growing.
