Pierre, SD (KELO.com) — State Representative Peri Pourier of Pine Ridge is changing parties. She says she’s leaving the Democratic party to join the GOP, which she says aligns with tribal sovereignty and her work to protect children, elders and homelands. Pourier says the move is about loyalty to the people she serves. The move increases the Republican grip in the state House to 65-5 over Democrats.
