PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota has one of the lowest drug overdose death rates in the nation, second only to Nebraska. Opioids are involved in over half of the state’s overdose deaths. Emergency responders and law enforcement have been equipped with naloxone in recent years, which is being credited with saving lives.
