PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — She methodically stole nearly 1.8-million dollars over a period of 13 years. Former state employee Lonna Carroll now faces 13 years in prison. Attorney General Marty Jackley says, despite the evidence against her, Carroll didn’t accept full responsibility for her actions. Part of her sentence included paying restitution for the stolen funds, but Carroll’s lawyer says it’s highly unlikely she will be able to accomplish that. An appeal is expected.
