SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Congressman Dusty Johnson made it official Monday – he’s running to become Governor of South Dakota. He becomes the third Republican candidate in what is shaping up to be a crowded field vying for the Governor’s mansion. There is also one Democrat who has announced his candidacy in the race. Johnson served on the state’s Public Utilities Commission before joining Governor Dennis Daugaard’s administration in 2011 as Daugaard’s chief of staff. He won his first term in the U.S. House in 2018.
