WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — A massive federal bill includes 40 million dollars to build a National Garden of American Heroes, and South Dakota leaders want it near Mount Rushmore. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act just passed the House by one vote. It includes plans to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a statue garden featuring 250 American heroes. Governor Larry Rhoden and Congressman Dusty Johnson have both asked President Trump to consider South Dakota for the site. The bill doesn’t name a location, and it still has to pass the Senate.
