Ellsworth Airforce Base and other military bases have tightened their security for the foreseeable future.

BOX ELDER, SD — Security is tighter at Ellsworth Air Force Base and military bases nationwide this week.  Officials say the changes are in response to world events, and similar measures are being put in place at bases across the country.  At Ellsworth, that means longer wait times and added screening for anyone coming onto the base.  The 28th Bomb Wing says there’s no specific threat right now, but they’re stepping up protection as a precaution.  They aren’t sharing details to protect operations but say the extra measures will stay in place as long as needed.
