Mayor Paul TenHaken
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The Mayor is offering the shirt off his back. Sioux Falls has over 180-million dollars worth of road construction underway this year, which leads to a lot of traffic delays. The best way to cut down on delays is what’s called “Zipper Merging” – allowing cars to merge into your lane on an alternating basis as you approach construction zones. Mayor Paul TenHaken wore a t-shirt to a news conference promoting the zipper merge that says, “I feel the urge to zipper merge”.
Laugh if you will, studies show zipper merging reduces traffic backups by about 40-percent.
