SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The budget belt is getting tighter at Sioux Falls City Hall. Among those that will feel the impact are non-profits that are also dealing with cuts from the state and federal governments. City Finance Director Shawn Pritchett says property tax reform is driving the process.
The tighter budget will also change the way non-profits apply for and receive support from the city budget. This year’s budget included about 1.5-million dollars worth of subsidies for non-profits. Pritchett is recommending reducing that by about a third, to one-million dollars for next year.
