WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — They say it’s time for private mortgage information to be kept private. Marty Jackley is one of the leaders in an effort by 42 Attorneys General pushing Congress to pass the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act. Jackley says it would stop so-called “trigger leads” – an avalanche of calls and texts from mortgage companies that buy your information when you apply for a mortgage.
Attorney General Jackley says the protection act would shield consumers from unwanted messages and fraudulent offers.
