VERMILLION, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota Public Broadcasting may be on financial life support. Proposed federal budget cuts would slash its funding in half, putting local programming, high school sports and emergency broadcasts at risk. SDPB leaders are trying to win Congressman Dusty Johnson’s support to fight the cuts. Earlier this year, SDPB avoided cuts proposed by then-Governor Kristi Noem, as the legislature restored funding in areas she had proposed cutting.
