Prison task force will see design work at next meeting

PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — The South Dakota Project Prison Reset Task Force will see design options next month.  The group is narrowing down plans for a new men’s prison, officially rejecting the original plan for an 825-million dollar facility between Harrisburg and Canton.  The new target is space for 1500 to 1700 inmates at a cost of 600-million dollars or less.  That could be at one or more facilities at current prison sites, or near Worthing or Mitchell.
